In the old China there was a group known as “Way of Unity” (Yiguandao). The group, which came into being in the late Qing dynasty, promoted the integration of five religions. It was a heretical sect, and from the moment it appeared in the Qing, people sought to vanquish it; the emperors of the Great Qing sought to destroy it. Early in the Republican period, the Nationalist Party (KMT) likewise sought to destroy it, executing its members in droves. When the Communist Party took power in the revolution, it similarly killed the group’s members by the dozen. Why did that happen? Nothing in ordinary human society is in fact by chance. The unfolding of history merely follows along with celestial changes. Thus, whatever happens in human society is not merely the product of someone doing something on the spur of the moment. In other words, it was not ordinary people who wanted to crush it; rather, it was Heaven’s will. Higher beings wanted it destroyed and would not permit its existence. That nonsense about “integrating five religions” was a serious case of undermining the Fa. It was a case of demons acting out among men.

People still think that what the Way of Unity teaches makes sense, however. The thoughts in the mind of a cultivator, as well as someone with religious belief, are quite crucial. Some cultivation ways depend completely on faith and don’t include any specific methods, so when your mind has other things mixed in, it will foul up what your practice cultivates—since no physical movements are involved, to begin with. Besides, demons now pervade the human world and are bringing ruin to mankind. Doesn’t everyone possess good thoughts? That is precisely what demons are out to destroy; they seek to make people fail at cultivation.

Дело тут, мне кажется, вот в чём. Хотя все религии правой руки говорят о спасении, и дают схожую метафизическую картину мира, методы этого спасения у них разные и смешивать их ни в коем случае нельзя. Логика тут простая: попасть на веришу горы можно многими способами, и у всех этих способов есть общее ядро — нужно верить в то, что это возможно, иметь должный характер, готовиться как следует, умело пользоваться снаряжением и иметь гида который уже забирался наверх — однако горе тому, кто решит понабрать трюков из разных методов и соединить их в некую амальгаму, считая это тоже методом. Такой скалолаз берёт с собой велосипед, весла от лодки, парашют, одежду для лесов амазонки, и лезет наверх без гида где и примерзает к горе. Поэтому, мне кажется, Ли так настойчиво напоминает, что нельзя скрестить методы христианства с буддизмом, например. Даже разные методы одного и того же буддизма скрещивать нельзя. Здесь и лежит опасность для Розы Мира, которой наверняка воспользуются силы мира сего: они скрестят именно методы, назовут это единством религий и за счёт этой тонкой подмены одурачат даже монахов. Истинное же единство религий, я думаю, в мирном сосуществовании, признании общей цели, но разных методов.
Обратите внимание на то, что РМ не учит никаким методам: даёт метафизический обзор, упоминает вскользь о некоем боковом осязании, но не объясняет как собственно забраться наверх. Меня это долгое время удивляло.
Также заслуживает внимание роль мировой женственности. Я думаю, что суть здесь в том, что это принцип гармонии — именно он объединяет всё в целое и поэтому он в центре объединения религий. Но как людям объяснить, что такое принцип гармонии? Приходится найти ближайшую понятную аналогию. Здесь лежит вторая опасность: люди снизят аналогию до материальных образов, силы мира сего помогут направить эти образы к себе, и так возникнет вторая тонкая подмена.
